The principle of begetting is a deep spiritual principle, and like all spiritual principles can only be understood experientially. Deep truths are like that - they must be tested and tried in the everyday of one's life to be understood. You cannot expect a person to give intellectual assent to these matters. They must 'know' them in the biblical sense, which is to experience, to understand, to draw close to, to learn about. What's interesting to me is that once you 'know' something in this way - having tested it and experienced it - your certainty in it is so deeply embedded that further dialogue or argument against this understanding is futile. “The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of..."to quote Pascal.
And yes, love this book, "Rest is Resistance.' And so it is.
