The Principle of Begetting

another thing I know to be true

Here’s another “philosophical nugget” I know to be true. And I think you know it, too.

More love begets more love. More hate begets more hate. More growth begets more growth. More calm begets more calm.

I referenced the preface of Tricia Hersey’s book Rest is Resistance: A Manifesto, where she writes: “This is my truth. I don’t need anyone else to verify this nor do I need complicated theories to support what I know to be true in my heart, my body, and my Spirit.” I reference Hersey not to verify what I say, but because I found her words encouraging.

Next time I’ll talk about sedimentation and rupture. It’s inspired by thinkers like Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Simone de Beauvoir, Audre Lorde, and Bayo Akomolafe.

Next next is something I’m calling “Kant in the Café”! It’s philosophy, yes, but made for everyday life.

Thanks for listening. This is fun.
