Some years ago I visited a friend in a psychiatric hospital. Despite his confines he remained radically defiant, shouting “Intellect without love is nothing!” I stared in wonder at his courage.
For a long time I used his words as a guide for my career choices. But, I strayed a little in the last years, relegating love to my personal life and prioritizing only the intellect in my work.
This Substack is part of my course correction. It’s good for my soul, but the fields of my training, philosophy and technology ethics, are also in desperate need of more heart. More body. More, dare I say? Spirit and reverence.
Here you’ll find stories, reflections, practices, and perhaps a polemic or two. I’m glad you’re here.
Power to the lovers!
